Who We Are

NGS was founded by United States Marine Corps Major General Steve Neary. Steve has over three decades of translating vision into actions, framing and solving problems, articulating risk, and applying an assessment framework in order to achieve desired results. He is a purpose-driven, positive leader who thrives on solving complex problems as a member of high-performing teams. Major General Neary has brought his values of trust, teamwork, success, and resiliency to the team at NGS and developed the Neary Coaching and Assessment Process.

Strategic Integrator (Management Consultant) – Evaluating Leadership Teams and Improving Team Performance. I have over 3 decades of translating vision into actions, articulating risk, and applying an assessment framework in order to achieve the desired results. I live and execute a well-proven process.

  1. VALUE: NGS will tailor its approach to fulfill your requirements. I am available to ensure a company’s plan is executable and assess the progress as the environment changes to achieve the desired end state.
  2. Example: Private Equity (PE) Companies and CEOs are all on timelines to produce results. There are high expectations, for example, a PE expects a 3- 4X return on its investment:
    • How does the CEO translate the expectations of the PE to his/her company into actionable tasks so that all actions of the company contribute to the end state?
    • What are the Measures of Performance and Measures of Effectiveness?
    • How does the CEO assess the progress of the company (assessment framework)?
    • What are the Decision Points along the path?
    • How does the CEO assess the customer and the competition today and tomorrow?
    • How is the CEO assessing and mitigating risk?
    • What happens if the PE changes its desired end state? Does the current plan/personnel/alliances still support the desired end state or is a new plan required?
    • What happens if the environment changes (competition, supply chain issues, toxic leaders, COVID, etc.)? The desired result is still the same, but what is the branch plan to account for this change and adapt our actions in order to achieve the same desired end state?
    • How are you recognizing opportunities and then what resources do you have available, or does your boss has to exploit success?
    • What are your competitors doing in the “space”? Do you study your competitors, and how do you describe them? What is compelling about their brand? Are they consistently achieving success? Purpose/Vision/Mission/Values.

Executive Development/Leadership Coach – Personal and professional development, tailored to your company and applicable from one on one with the CEOs/up-and-coming leaders and teams. VALUES:

  1. Executive Development: Learn from my battlefield successes and mistakes = experience so you and your team don’t make the same mistakes and also serve as an independent trusted sounding board for leaders.
  2. Be a trusted agent who works for you, but your team has access to me to listen to their challenges and provide options. I can be employed in many ways:
    • Ensure all actions are contributing to the organization’s vision. An organization’s vision acts as a statement of potential and a description of what it wants to become; a personal purpose statement gives shape and direction to your life.
    • Independently directed telescope to identify and define the problem and then provide options to consider.
    • Provide leadership development with an individual or a team. I have a lot of experience and perhaps having someone outside the company can provide candid feedback, insights, and best practices that could be of great value to the individual and to you.
    • Assess the structure to ensure the humans are where they need to be.
    • Assess the processes to see if there is a purpose for each meeting. Do the meetings complement each other contributing to the CEO being informed and the information being presented so he/she can make a decision?
    • Provide an assessment of the culture.
